Is this really it?

I got a job as a cashier assistant at Costco, and I’m only a couple of days into it at this point, in fact today was my first full shift and I am so drained that I’m dreading going tomorrow. They only scheduled me for 5 hour shifts for the next week and probably the foreseeable future, so no 30 minute lunch ever I guess. The people who shop at Costco are the most brain dead, stuck up, morons I’ve ever had the displeasure of serving, the management are pencil pushing elitists that have no idea what is happening on the floor, the supervisors are clueless and stretched thin, the procedures are archaic, we need to drop everything and put unwanted items into a group of carts shoved off to the side, and then bring the random items back to the unlabeled and frequently moved places they were taken from…

Is this it? Is this just the standard for the rest of my life? Dreading work everyday and counting down the scant hours of free time I have between shifts? Even if this is a stopgap, between getting my ass in gear and trying to make a game/show/movie, there has to be a job that’s better fitting that I won’t dread.

I have a question then, can any of you suggest jobs that have minimal interactions with people that one can apply for with little experience? I have over 7 months of customer service/retail experience and I’m kinda stuck to jobs in that sphere. I just want to wake up and not dread going to work, ideally excited to go, but at least neutral.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just going to get used to it at this point.
