Is working completely alone with 80+ guests legal?

I work at a café and my shifts are mostly in the evening when certain events take place. I serve wine/beer, snacks (like cakes, chips, cookies), drinks and coffee by the bar. I can handle my job and I don’t like to complain. But my manager insists that I work alone because that’s expected of the employees. Which is completely fine if there’s less than 50 people. But lately I’ve been tackling 70-80 people which gets really stressfull. I dread going to work knowing how much is expected of me. I asked him if I can have one more person at work and he said he’ll think about it… I’m only 21 and got this job on the side as I’m a fulltime mechanical engineering student. I’d really appreciate any advice or input. Work is really getting to me.
