it was the demon’s fault

I worked in management for a “good friend” who could never seem to keep people. This was a small company. It took about a year and I began to clearly see why. Micromanaging, undermining, lack of communication, being the brunt of all frustrations, and at the very end going behind my back and taking a very new accountant's word against me. My health completely declined, and at the end I had to leave. Fast forward, they ask me to do a quick report because they don't have anyone else to do it. I come back for about 20is hours as a consultant after they find out they have been losing more and more money. I would have said no but at this point I knew it would feel good to see the completely unnecessary mess they put themselves in. It was a mess, and the accountant within the same minute…

It was a mess, and the accountant within the same minute said “oh yes we saw the profits going down,” and after I questioned why they didnt say anything “we don't have time to look at things like that.” What??? Then for the kicker. My old boss told me after another really great worker left as well, “so I've talking with so and so, and we agree that there is an anxiety demon that is in the office and that's why people become too stressed and leave.”…
