It’s all about money

I have this part time job I work on top of my day job. It's intermittent and overnight, but I am a W2 employee, and when they need me, it is usually 12 hour overnights, so I'll end up doing 57-70 hours a week, working days and overnights. They're disorganized for the most part as well, and I find out about shit at the last minute. Nonetheless, I actually refer people to their recruiters and feel pretty good about my employment there. I've had a lot of jobs in my life and I have hated every single one of them. Like, 10+ in 16 years, and every last one of these jobs has just been awful in some way or another. This job tho? They're flexible with me, kind, and most of all.. they pay fucking money. None of this 15/hr bullshit. I show up, and get paid 29/hr for…

I show up, and get paid 29/hr for doing their work. No trying to nickel and dime me, overtime pay is never a question, and if I am scheduled for a shift and they cancel it, they pay me for a half day anyway. They also hit me with a 1/hr raise within 4 weeks of working for them.

This job is kinda dumb. I have to stand out in the freezing cold. The only place I can piss is a frozen porta potty, and there's nowhere open to even grab a hot bite on my lunch because everything is closed at 2 a.m. when I get to take a break.

But, I walk out of that job every single shift, glad I did it, because I know I just walked out $300, after taxes, wealthier, for doing some honest, not morally objectionable, not micromanaged, work.

Literally that's all it is. Don't be a dick and fucking pay me, and I'll be happy as a pig in shit.

Is that too much to ask? Am I insane for wondering why my day job couldn't go ahead and do that, too?
