Its reading week!

So I worked in a telephone interviewer role early in the year in a VERY disorganized company. This new company I'm working for is golden in comparison – the support team in accessible, info is clear, expectations are realistic. I really liked my intro to this company. UNTIL…. I just got an email. This company just sent out a notice saying that they know its reading week for most post-secondary students so they've decided to AUTOMATICALLY schedule everyone for 40 hours this upcoming week. And then sent out the finalized schedules immediately after. They've given the option to email and confirm if you can accomodate it, but still!Am I irrational for being so upset by this?? They've given the option to email and confirm if you can accomodate it, but still!Am I irrational for being so upset by this?? I'm a placement student so I'm full time onsite at another workplace 3 days a week. I work for this company for three other days, and only get Sundays off right now. I've explained this to the company. Doesn't matter – I also got scheduled for 40 hours! And even if I WAS one of the students getting a full week off, so what??? Why would anyone's schedule change, unless they directly told the company they want to work more hours? I can't help but feel like they're taking advantage of their staff that aren't confident enough to say no to this. I feel like they should've asked who wanted more hours, not automatically scheduled it in.

Just when I started thinking this company might be different… SMH.
