I took a $8K annual pay cut in the last year mostly because managers are rude idiots or the work load is unbearable. My current job, which I'm leaving soon, has 3 people doing the work of 5. I clock 45 to 65 hours a week depending on what needs to get done. Twice a month, on a weekend, I do the job of multiple people working remote on inferior loaned equipment and outdated computer programs that are prone to crashing and the work has to be done in a certain amount of time.
Now, it's back to job hunting. I don't mind working but it is always a dick head or impossible work load. Other colleagues work over several hours over and don't count it on their work time card and I refuse to do the same. I don't mind doing a little extra but we all know that's a mistake in itself and what becomes of it. The job market continues to get worse everywhere and the the world keeps turning.
I am beyond tired of getting screwed.
