It was OK, hours and the work suited , had some toxic colleagues, but who doesn't .
The perk was job and finish, so once you were done, you could go home.
They scrapped it. Now to be fair, managers can and did say, you are paid till such and such a time and expected to work till your time. BUT, everyone just went on a go slow.
Managers frustrated but what did they expect.
Hours were 18:00-02:00, if the work was finished by 23:00, they used to let you go
Then it became 18:00-02:00 no matter what, even if you finished at 23:00, you had to stand around, so people left in droves.
Rubbish pay, heavy lifting, unsociable hours BUT the perk with a job and finish, people might give it a go, but they got rid of the only perk and then used to plead with people not to quit with the classic tagline….
