I work from home on thinkpad laptop. In the summer, myself and a few others were trained on technology testing software and when running through the simulations, I experienced a few tech issues in regards to capturing the entire screen when attempting to show malfunctions. I reached out to the team and was told this occasionally malfunctions and they are going to send me a second monitor which may assist. Fast forward to today- I still have not received a second monitor (this company sometimes takes a very long time to send products so it did not phase me) but I was assigned a tech testing case on top of my usual workload. I reached out and said I would be happy to do the testing but I wanted to make sure they remember my IT issues because I was told if the entire screen was not captured it could make the testing useless. At first, I was told I should be able to manage on one laptop and I don't need a second monitor. I reminded them I did not request the monitor for fun and was told it was being sent to me because of the IT errors. After a few minutes, I received a teamschat asking if I currently have a personal monitor and/or would be willing to go buy one for work. I did not respond instantly and was sent several messages about how I can look for a cheap monitor on craigslist or facebook and it would be own set up to do as I please and I should buy the second monitor for work. I think that's absurd, I am a college student and if I buy a monitor (which I have been saving for a PC and specific monitors I wanted) I want to buy the best monitor I can and have it for my own set up not for work. Am I being unrealistic? I've been working FT since I was a teenager but this is one of my first corp. jobs.
