I had a shitty job and got fired. For reasons that are irrelevant now, I filed a complaint and went though a couple agencies to figure out what happened and what my options were. Turns out that the official reasoning behind my firing was that I didn’t return to work after being on mandated leave for COVID, which is bizarre because I did return and got paid for working after returning. I’m not sure what the implications are or if there’s even anything I can do, but I can’t find any information and I’m not even sure what to ask besides “that’s weird, wtf??” This happened in Indiana.
I’m only posting here because I’ve tried to ask about it on r/legal and only get downvoted. I genuinely don’t understand why but there is an ADA aspect to this that I think people don’t like for some reason. No one at the agencies I’ve talked to will give me an answer either. There’s also tons of layers to this and I know IN’s an at-will state so they can lie about why they fired me, but there’s something really off about all of it. I just wanna know what other people think.
