Job forcing me to travel due to being understaffed

I'm currently working out of an office close to me, and have been for the last 3 years, I don't mind going in a couple times a week as I can WFH when I can (my job requires me to be onsite for certain things). A couple months ago some staff left another office about 2 hours away from me and my company have not replaced them. Things were ok this way, but recently they've decided they need presence from someone in my department there at least once a week. Since I'm the closest to that office, they wanting me to go. They would pay for travel time, but issue is I don't want to deal with it. I don't want to spend 4 hours driving in a day once a week. Plus, if something goes wrong at my site, I'd still have to handle it along with new responsibilities…

This all comes down to my company cutting costs and not replacing staff. Period. We are running lean as is, and now they want me to manage another site. Thoughts?
