Job have me a full on computer setup when it wasn’t even in the job description. I assumed that since the job was remote, employees would either use their own computers or the company would send a company laptop.
There was nothing in the job description stating that we would be given a large computer setup.
My coworkers and I got to speak to each other and we all said the same thing. We reached out to our managers to ask if we’d be provided desks and shelves to place all the equipment. Or, at the least, a stipend to purchase a desk. We were told that they could not.
They wouldn’t even send over an extension outlet to cover all the cords that are included.
If a company is going to provide stuff like this, they should be able to provide the employees support as well.
They keep stating that we must have a strong internet connection to have optimal performance. If they want a strong internet connection, why not provide a hotspot?
A friend of mine works at a company that gave their employees the option to WFH when the pandemic first hit. The company provided their employees with WiFis and other necessary equipment. If a company can easily adapt, why can’t others?
There are too company companies that make their employees fend for themselves and expect their employees to work around them.
