So I work in ABA therapy and had asked to be taken off a case that had made me feel uncomfortable to work with the client. I had worked with them for two months and on my last day with them I told my supervisor I can’t work with them it’s too much for me. This is an entry level job to get into the psychology field so it isn’t something that pays amazing, but for the amount of distress I have gotten from the client I knew it would be better for both of us to cut ties and my coordinator and supervisor say I’m their best fit. I had two meetings with the coordinator and that’s all they can say when I say I can’t and won’t work with them. I feel like they don’t understand that they need me more than I need them and that I won’t put up with the treatment if I had worked with them and dreaded going to the session with the client because it just ruins my day. I can handle a lot, but when I’m done. I’m done. Idk the HR number or anything and I am not sure if what I want to happen is within their rules or not but I just feel like they’re trying to manipulate me to work with him because nobody can or wants to.
