Hi all, need advice about my job. This all happened last year, but I’m still pissed. Here’s the back story—
I called in sick expecting that I had sick time. Turns out I didn’t have any. Ended up finding out that my entire vacation I took was actually used as sick time, even though it was presented that it wouldn’t be.
I asked if sick time was the same as vacation, HR said yes.
I went back today in my signed documents and saw that I get 1 hour sick time for every 30 worked. And 1 hour vacation time accrued every 2 weeks.
So they lied. My vacation time should’ve been marked as such. And when I called out sick, it should’ve been sick time.
Any advice on what to do? I would leave, as I’m confident I can find the same pay elsewhere but this year (November) I’m eligible for unlimited PTO.
