I work an administrative type job that pays just $10/hr. It’s not ideal, and I’ve been looking for a better place to work for a while now, but I don’t want to jump from one bad job to another bad one out of desperation so I’ve been taking my time making my next move.
This company requires that you meet extremely high production quotas that are right near unattainable for even the most skilled workers.
Last week, I received a warning from the company that I am to meet a new, even higher production quota by the end of March. This quota is so unfathomably unattainable that I legitimately believe they are trying to get me to it quit. It’s so unattainable that it would take 2 people working non-stop to achieve what they’re asking of me.
I guess this is more of a rant than anything, but I’m so sick of these companies paying these pathetic wages and constantly wanting more than anyone can reasonably produce, threatening our jobs, treating us like we’re disposable, and having the audacity to act like they have leverage to treat us like this when they’re paying us such low wages. They’re getting the bargain. They’re getting the value, not the employee.
