I’m a secretary with the largest law firm in America so I am at the lowest position in a company filled with rich arrogant pricks. Our receptionist recently quit and as a secretary it’s somehow my job to become the new receptionist? This was never listed in my job description and I chose my current job specifically because I didn’t have to work with clients directly. I’ve explained my concerns but HR is forcing this job change on me and they told me if I don’t want to do that job I can just resign. Obviously I will not be resigning, I’ll be refusing till they fire me so I can still get those unemployment benefits.
I’m just wondering, can they legally do this? Force me into a completely new job? I’m at a loss as to how to handle this fucked uno situation.
