I interviewed for a reception position at a small private practice. There were 3 weeks in between my first interview with them and my second. They said that they still had more interviews so it may be another couple weeks, but they’d respond to me potentially next week. Another week passed and I got a job offer from a different company. I sent the first place an email explaining that although I got a job offer, they were my first choice and I’d love to work with them but I need to respond to the other company with a decision in a week.
They sent me back an email saying that they had received several new applications within the last few days and their initial time frame for a decision would be significantly longer. Then they marked my application on Indeed as “not chosen by employer.” Are you kidding me??? Why would you conduct new interviews when you already conducted second interviews for several applicants this far into the process?
I wanted to tell them that I’m still interested in the position but at this point this showed me everything I need to know about them.
