I’m a manager at a new company and learned only a couple of weeks ago that Juneteenth isn’t being recognized at all. After thinking about it and bringing it up to my superior, who did nothing, I’ve given my team informal permission to only attend scheduled meetings and nothing else. I’ve also let them know they can stop working after their last commitment, so hopefully taking off a few hours early.
It’s not as good as a day off or company-wide events to celebrate it, but it’s the least (and the most) I could personally do.
If you’re in the same position in an office job and can afford to do it, I recommend the same
