My job is currently mandating a return to office. I have been working with our HR department and my primary doctor regarding getting an accomodation to continue to work from home because of my anxiety. So far I have given them 3 forms from my PCP, but was given an ultimatum email today that they will not be able to provide me the WFH “Accomodation” despite of all the documentation from my doctor and therapist I've sent. I was given the “Please be advised, failure to follow the company's return to inperson work policy will result in discipline, and potentially termination.” shtick.
Now I have absolutely hated this job and have wanted to leave for years now. I have a safety net in place that allows me to just put in my two weeks right now. My question is, is it better for me to have them terminate me? I am just not sure if I will qualify for unemployment and I live in at At Will state. How would you all respond to that email?
