Just applied for healthcare in NY, $500 a month?

I’m a single male (20’s) living in the “greater new york” area. base healthcare is $500 a month- all deductible. decent insurance is $600, which i selected because i cannot afford a deductible at the moment. my income with this single choice went from $45,000 to $36,000. my year of car insurance is only $1,400 compared to the $7,200. does the price eventually go down like my car insurance? it feels a little more hopeless every day. edit: i just did the math- costs me $10 an hour of my salary. yes its post tax income calculation.
