Just found out I got turned down for a promotion.

An opportunity came up at work for a promotion. It was for a shift lead position, I have been doing this already since our shift lead quit. The options were between me and another coworker that was leading the shift with me too. Everyone wanted me to get the promotion because I treat everyone well, I try to be fair, and don’t mind working along my team in order to get us out of there soon. My coworker on the other hand, acts like a boss, treats everyone poorly unless he likes them, belittles everyone, and will do anything to not do any of his work. I end up doing all of it. The guy knows how to talk, I dont, I mumble a lot if I am nervous or in front of large crowds. A lot of people in my team teamed up to tell my boss not to promote this guy. Interviews finally came and as expected my coworker talked great and made himself look good. My interview was a mess. I answered almost all the questions but struggled to talk as I was nervous. He got the job. And it makes me mad because I have done so much and he only does when people above him are around, other workers have even brought up to my boss how he mistreats them but he still got the job. I feel very discouraged but I know my interview wasn’t pleasant.
