Just found out I spent Easter at work for *nothing*

My daughter was at her mother's house for the night since I worked at 6am. My wife and my son got up extra early so we could do an egg hunt around the house quick before I left. I saw my daughter after work for a couple hours. All manageable under the assumption (I know, I shouldn't of assumed) that I was at least getting time and a half. Nope. Nothing. Just a holiday away from my 2 kids and pregnant wife for a paycheck that will look exactly the same. Why. There is starting to be less and less of a reason for any of this when no one is benefitting. I work 40+ hours a week and have since high-school and while I may not “have a skill” the job I have now was just a short time ago very sought after. That's besides the point. I can…

There is starting to be less and less of a reason for any of this when no one is benefitting. I work 40+ hours a week and have since high-school and while I may not “have a skill” the job I have now was just a short time ago very sought after. That's besides the point. I can BARELY, with added income from my wife, make it and my situation is “lucky.”

How do we change this?
How do we stop fighting about everything and get everyone to agree on this issue of a living wage?
Why is there so many people who agree yet nothing that is ever done?
This constant feeling of defeat goes away eventually right….
