My industry requires 30 days notice. I just delivered it. My schedule was so shit last year I was unable to travel or spend time with my spouse and children over 80% of the weekends. My child’s whole summer vacation from school gone.
The worst part is that I asked so many questions prior to applying to ensure this wouldn’t be the case. I was laughed at and told of course not!
It left me in such a poor mental state I absolutely cannot have a repeat of the same this summer. I was moved to 50% weekends a few months back, but fuck that.
I have never left a job without having backup but I will be employment free until this summer is over and I am going to enjoy every second of my freedom and precious time spent with my family!
You can’t get your time back folks. Do what makes you happy while you can!
