As title says, this fucking place I worked at as a temp job for the winter before my seasonal well paying job kicks in, had their call off policy as basically “we refuse to find cover for you, find cover for your own shifts no matter what.” I called in sick with a fever a day before my shift, warned them that I don’t wanna come in and contaminate the store, and was told to find cover. Spent the whole day messaging the coworkers who weren’t working, without response or with refusals (understandable, it was a weekend shift and people have plans). Called them early morning day of my shift, told them again that I’m running a fever and can’t come in, messaged more coworkers and then called them A THIRD TIME, making sure they knew FOR SURE that I’ve done everything I can and still couldn’t find cover. Come in today for my next scheduled shift after missing that one, and get told I’m terminated immediately. Feels like the policy is some huge bullshit to me…
