We had a new boss take over in November who the team hates. I was the only one who tried to defend them in some regard even though they argued I got the brunt of their anger and problems the most. The reasons for letting me go didn't even make sense, they were just trying to come up with excuses so they could avoid stating my medical condition for the reason. (But them taking week long vacations being unreachable during a massive deadline is totally fine).
There really is no loyalty for corporations and while I knew that I guess it just didn't really click for me fully until now. At least this gives me a chance to get away from a toxic work environment, even if it feels more like a punch to the gut right now.
