This was my response to the RSVP email…
“Thank you very much, I appreciate it but the recognition isn't necessary. In my ten years I've prevented 2 suicide attempts by students, stopped several large fights and less than a year ago stopped a fire at Founders Hall and throughout all that, the thanks I have received was a demotion from the Lieutenant position (requested by me during my recent childs birth but not reinstated) and my weekends being taken away from me.
Saddest of all was the stress from everything, including being made fun of by my superiors when I had Covid in 2019 resulted in me developing IBS from anxiety and a surgery for that.
Thank you for the recognition but I've learned that the thanks I need have come from the students I have helped, since honest work isn't valued here.”
My pay is 17ph after 10 years… I work nights also so I'm supposed to go to get a paper for all the shit I have been through and some soggy muffins instead of sleep? Fuck that.
