So we got an email March 1st that we would be returning to office May 1st even though 2 years of better performance and company made half a billion dollars last year we need “water cooler talk” that was the exact phrasing…my boss asked me what I thought the day after the email and I said I won’t be returning…we had 2 more meetings…said the same thing….so Friday comes and of course Monday is May…he calls me at 2PM and says “so have you thought more about returning to office” I said “yes I have I have through more about it and I feel even more strongly I won’t be returning”
He says “so are you leaving then” I say “no I will be online Monday morning just like I have been for 26 months, the ball is in your court”
He then goes on to mention he would really love to keep me but the “company” probably won’t go for it and it will be “hard for me probably” I was like nope I’m good either way just let me know what you decide.
I don’t have another job lined up hit I know fill remote is out there, honestly I’m excited about hopefully just taking a few months off….first time I’ve ever stood up for myself in my entire life
