I just reported my work through my states department of labour for an a couple OSHA violations. To make a king story short, the ramp was built in the late seventies and has never had any of the traffic booths replaced since the 1980’s and hasn’t done any major work on the ramp because laying concrete at one of the entrances and fixing a portion of the scissors walkway on the back of the ramp after a small section of concrete fell when a manager who had only worked here for a few months touched it when he saw it loose on the ceiling. In his own words he said “it could have killed a small child”
This ramp has been going through many renovations, but nothing can cover up all of the conditions and disrepair beyond replacing large sections of the ramp, including traffic booths. It was set to be torn down in the years leading up to Covid because a concrete slab fell from the ceiling on to someone’s car. Their solution? Just place some netting under the ceiling to prevent the next slab from falling on the floor. The problem? Everyone will see a chunk of concrete hanging in a net from where it fell and now you have to cut the net to take out that concrete and fix the net underneath the missing piece.
One of the heavy door fell on one of my co workers while she was taking transactions and everyone laughed while I stained in disbelief. The staff is simply not that nice. Not the best people to be around for various reasons. Anyone halfway decent quits just for trying to mind their own business and stay silent as the staff talks shit about them and other employees. Toxic workplace.
Management lies. Last night my manager lied and tried to get me to stay until ten and then walked away when I confronted him with my schedule. I have texted the day manager, his boss to let them know that I don’t think J is a good manager.
Customers are rude sometimes like every retail and cashier position. Most are nice, but their are a few who can’t get what they want and are very mad about it.
The traffic booths are old and rusty and the wood floors are worn away by years of abuse from roller chairs and salty footing. The base on the outside of the booths are completely rusty and not in good condition, with some parts completely corroded through like a rusty beat up car. If you live in a snowy area, you know how that salt eats away at the metal of your car. Get a car wash.
All the railings and the overhanging metal that hangs the height maximum for the vehicles are all rusted. In general, everything is rusted.
Just by looking at it, you might not think there is anything wrong with the ramp, but just remember that people cross rusty bridges everyday and don’t seem to notice it as they pass by in their cars. I suppose there is enough said about bridges collapsing and constructions projects failing in the US. Just think of how many safety violations there are.
I know the situation is out of my hands now and I will end it by telling everyone never to work for REEF technology. You don’t want to suffer the lies and ridicule I did only to find out that your company is in the midst of many disputes, just look what happened in Portland and other locations around the US and always remember that they hire shitty management to run a shitty company. Right now I can’t think of anyone worse then REEF. In it’s short existence it has broken so many laws that it is astounding, so be wary of the REEF brand and do not do business with them.
