The US Senate just passed a bill to increase military spending to $858 Billion for 2023 (which is more than the military even asked for). Military spending was $801 Billion in 2022. An increase of $57 billion.
Bernie Sander's plan to make all public universities and colleges in the US tuition free would cost the federal government $48 billion per year. How did the media react to that? Across the board they said “how are we going to pay for it”, “how can we afford it”, “fanciful wishful thinking”.
Meanwhile the military spending bill passed in the Senate 83-11. The media isn't even mentioning it. Nobody questions how we will pay for it.
