I work in real estate (I know, shitty profession at the moment) and was laid off my last job on March 1st after being with the company for 4 years because things were slowing down. There was still work to do, but the company eliminated my position. Found another job within 2 weeks. They were preparing for an influx of contracts they were told were going to start coming in, but never did. Was laid off today.
I'm not mad at the companies or my bosses, because it's just the business sometimes.
What I'm worried about is:
1. I don't want to look for another real estate job if it's not secure at the moment.
2. I've literally never worked any other job than real estate or minimum wage jobs.
3. I will not work for a shitty corporation that refuses to pay their workers a living wage (of course, unless I absolutely have no other choice).
4. I have absolutely no fucking idea what to do now. I'm literally sick to my stomach. I have 3 kids to take care of and unemployment is not gonna cut it.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
