My mothers aunt is on her deathbed, so my mum has been driving over to her about twice, sometimes even three times a week to be there for her when she passes. Because of this situation I learned that we have something called “relative support” in my country. Basically you are allowed to take time of work if a person close to you is seriously ill or dying and you get payed 80% of your salary, just like you would if you were home sick.
I know this isn't usually what's posted here but I feel like we need some positive news every once in a while. Capitalism is still alive and well here but I was happily surprised to learn about this.
PS. I live in Sweden.
