Salaried rates are sometimes just indentured servitude.

Imagine this: You work in home health care as a manager in an on call position (basically 24/7). You live your job. You get paid 22 an hour on salary to manage 5 patients and you are in charge of all their care needs. If they need to go to the hospital you have to answer the call. If you don't have staff for a certain day, you have to work their 8 hour shift. Ever since the great resignation event happened many people have retired or moved on. The staffing shortage has heavily impacted the home health industry and increased managers having to work extra shifts. In essence you are working 50+ hours a week for 22 an hour no overtime or bonuses no morale to continue doing this. Regular caregivers that you manage get paid more than you for less responsibility just working one shift of overtime. This…

I'm happy to say I have stepped down from managing and I'm on my way to get a new career that doesn't damage my mental and physical well being. If you are doing the same on salary… the wage slavery isn't worth it.
