I run a machine at my job. My relief operator clocks in at the last minute and it takes 3 or 4 minutes to make it back to our line. I can't stop my machine at the drop of a hat without making scrap, so I need to get to a stopping point. I have been shutting down when I won't have time to finish a unit before quitting time. That might be as much as 25 minutes before quitting time. My boss doesn't like it. I don't like having to stay over on a 12 hour shift. We're at an impasse.
