After being on this sub for over a year, I slowly but surely grew the third eye. I constantly read things that applied to my life that I shrugged off because I thought “that wouldn’t be me”, “who would be taken advantage of like that?” “There’s no way that applies to myself”.
It was me. A hard look in the mirror made me realize I was one of the ‘working in a place that was underappreciated and under rewarded for my effort’. I had five people in my office that are multimillionaires from doing what I did, and I drank just enough Kool-Aid to think I can be like them in a reasonable amount of time.
After some thought, I realized none of these people had anything worth working for. They were either divorced, lonely, substance dependent, depressed… Meanwhile I have a great life of friends and family and the only way everyone in that office succeeded is by worrying about themselves and their commission/business.
The trade-off for me as opposed to them, it’s gonna take decades to get millions, but I’m gonna be happy while I do it with people surrounding me that love me. Next step is getting work visa and not taking part in the American system at all.
