Left my job a month ago, they haven’t paid me for the last week I worked and have now ghosted me

As some background: I'm a teacher who started working at a private school at the beginning of the year. I ended my contract with them due to some personal issues, combined with very poor working conditions in the school, but that's a different story that maybe I'll put in a comment later. As part of my contract, I was only required to give them one week's notice. They asked for two, and I complied. This extra week I worked ended up being one week into a new pay period, so I would still get a smaller paycheque at the end of the month. I messaged the school coordinator before to make sure I would be receiving my paycheque. She said she would message me when it's ready to be picked up as they print off physical cheques.

The next day, she sent a message to the staff group chat, which I am still a part of, saying they were ready to be picked up. I drove over to the school after work at my new job and was told they didn't have my paycheque, that “something happened” and they would let me know when it was ready. That was over a week ago.

Since then, I have sent two other texts to the school coordinator, one where I got no response and another where she responded very cryptically. On Friday evening, I emailed the principal of the school as well as the board chair and have had no response. I've tried to be as cordial as I can, but it seems that's not working. I have been given no information on what happened with my paycheque or when I will receive it. I suspect I was taken off payroll and they're trying to get away with just not paying me.

School administration would always say that “everyone here is family.” I don't know how they treat their families, but I certainly wouldn't do something like this to mine.

My next step is to put in complaints with the private school association, through my government regulatory body, and leave poor reviews on Google, Indeed, and wherever else I can.

Here are the texts and email.
