I’ve been working at a failing performing arts college for a year. After a year of disrespect, getting yelled at, and my time and talents not being valued, I quit. My eyes have been wandering elsewhere when they furloughed all staff for two weeks due to the owners mis managing their money. (Mind you, we just had a million dollar student lounge built, as well as just held a huge festival)
I legit have victim mentality, as my immediate thought was, “oh no! I did something wrong!” I’m getting past that. I messaged my students, and let them know. And they all support my decision. This subreddit has really helped too. I’m done with this abusive thought process and not being valued. Thanks, y’all.
