Lesson learned

I used to be a hard worker. I climbed the corporate ladder to a decent paying job with a company that I cared about. I stayed late, canceled vacations, worked sick. I was the favored one there. And then I went through a hellish HR investigation in which I ended up being in trouble for something I did not even do. My boss turned on me, my colleagues turned on me and upper management labeled me a problem employee. Lesson learned not to try hard anymore and that when they don’t like you, then you are labeled a problem no matter how hard you tried. I have no choice but to stay for now. It is hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and face my coworkers. I have so much leave saved up and I fear they will discipline me now for taking it. I…
