Let’s discuss motivation…

We were raised to shoot for the American Dream, work hard, get an education, buy a house, raise a family, earn a nice living, retire happy. That dream is dead, let’s be honest, none of this works anymore. If you work hard, you earn more work, and it won’t matter you’ll still get laid off or outsourced. If you get an education you’ll get saddled with a debt you’ll likely never be able to pay back. Want to buy a home, you can’t afford it, but with rents soo high, you can’t afford not to either. Kids, if you can barely support yourself how could you even consider having children. Retirement isn’t even on people’s radar anymore, they’re worried about their next meal or next month’s rent, how do you budget your way out of impossibility. Even health insurance, used to be a hedge against bankruptcy, you had insurance in case heaven forbid something happened at least you would be covered, now it doesn’t matter, you’ll go bankrupt with insurance. So what’s the motivation to work hard, get an education, raise a family when day to day expenses are out of reach then goals become luxuries, and unobtainable ones at that. If there’s no hope of getting out of it or getting ahead, then where’s the motivation to try? That’s where i see US society at, Corporations have taken away every incentive in hopes of squeezing every last dime from us, and now we just wait and see what happens.
