So, I work for a pretty local place and overall the work has been tolerable, but I constantly am dealing with some fairly dangerous individuals to the point in which we needed to get security, plus the owner is pinching pennies as much as he can, even getting mad at us when we put on our apron after we clock in since we’d get an extra 1-2 minutes of money.
Our Christmas bonus as well was literally just a $30 gift card to some random place in town. Wages are also awful where most people need at least 2 jobs to get by (the owner knows this but refuses to give raises). I know for a fact they have a fair bit of money as one of the owners owns at least one airport and constantly go on trips around the world.
Last little bit, and this is more of a personal annoyance for me, he’s very religious and he brings up his beliefs pretty often, even having us do a prayer at Christmas. I don’t have an issue with him expressing his beliefs, but I don’t feel it really has a place at work, especially when a lot of us are very uncomfortable about it.
All this to both get off my chest (sorry it’s kinda a jumbled mess) but also to ask, am I looking too much into this? Ik my job isn’t nearly as bad as some others, but is it still ok for me to think it’s bad?
