Honestly, I have strong interests in renewable energy field and I am working in specialised energy finance. But this field really don't pay very well (whether you are in engineering or finance) and the job scopes aren't the easiest compared to other financial products. Even though US is pushing forward with grand energy plans, it is still very difficult to find a energy related job that pays a decent salary. I was told that there is a limited pool of energy finance talents in the US and yet companies don't feel like paying for it and giving shit comment about joining them shouldn't be about the money. Huh? I don't understand this idea. Money weights more than my interest because I need to be able to survive. If the other sectors can feed me well, my interest is really nothing.
I love renewable energy but too bad, I can't afford to love it, it is too expensive for ordinary people. If your company can't find talents, maybe revisit your compensation policies.
