This isn't my place of business, so I am not sure if this is the right community to vent in, but it seems like it fits somewhat.

A business local to me, a dentist's office, has an alarm that goes off every night after they close and lasts all night. It is a very high-pitched random noise sound that was put up to drive homeless people away.
It is incredibly loud and annoying.
This has apparently been reported to the police before, who do nothing. I wrote them an e-mail and a local sandwich shop said they complained more than once. I also wrote the dentist franchise ownership, which has done nothing to stop it. I even wrote the Starbucks in the same parking lot saying that I don't go there and eat outside anymore because the noise is so loud. I thought maybe a large business might have some clout locally.
Nothing has happened. They simply refuse to stop blasting this alarm.
This has been happening for at least 4 years. At least. Maybe longer.
I don't agree that this is the way to deal with homeless people—-but, even if it were, it clearly doesn't work, as it has done nothing to drive them away. At night they are often sat right outside the dentist's office, leaning against it. The alarm might be too-high pitched if you have bad ears and health to hear.
But it is painful to walk by—but I think that part of what really annoys me is that this owner seems to show a total disregard for everybody else around and the fact that the law doesn't seem to apply to this person.
