I got laid off mid October. What I’m assuming is severance pay, the company offered me a 1 time lump sum payment of $1000 if I agree to the terms and conditions of being laid off. I accepted it.
Just now I get an email saying that FedEx has lost the check or it has been destroyed and I need to sign an affidavit through adobe fill and sign so they can reissue another check in the amount of $870. WTF is going on?
I told them I’m not signing it and I already signed the separation agreement for the amount of $1000.
This company has been shady since day 1. So I feel they’re trying to pull a fast one by doing this.
Should I sign or not? I sent them an email quoting the original agreement for $1000. Irritated!!!! What to do?
