Lost empathy for my employment. Enacting my back up plan.

I seem to be a latchkey person for last resort promotional opportunities. I've been burned recently with a promotional opportunity that I otherwise would of liked and would of been good at. My manager has made it clear they will no longer allow me to do anything but the job task I'm assigned to and that's it! (Mostly due to lack of staff and my position is difficult to fill.) Minimum state wage is quickly catching up to our jrnyman pay and the union is too slowly increasing our pay. Moral at my store is also very low. Corporate doesn't seem to care. Current management isn't holding staff responsible for their actions and it's nauseating what people get away with. I'm beginning to see why I stay 5 yrs at one location then transfer around. Thank god I'm coming up soon on that mark. I'm highly considering a new location. The drama at my current store is too darn high.

I might inquire my manager about the tuition reimbursement program. I'm almost done with my aa at my current college and I may take advantage of my employer to pay my bachelor degree then move on.

My two cent rant. Sorry Kroger you lost another employee in the long run. We're replaceable numbers not people.
