Low income housing is bullshit in my state. They expect you to pay 40%+ on housing alone.

I was looking into some low income housing with my gf because we’ll be moving soon. I found a place where rent was about $1400/month And I asked what their requirements were to be considered low income. And to be considered low income, the household income could not be over $45,000. That’s absolutely insane to be making that little and having to spend $1400/month to live there and it’s considered low income. I thought low income meant cheaper prices??
