Been following this place for a while now and figured y’all wouldn’t mind me venting as my boss certainly doesn’t care. Accepted a job at the beginning of the year with a salary plus bonus. The salary was fine, but the bonus was a real driving point for me. It’s dependent on your annual review, which for me was fine. I work hard and am generally good at making relationships with those in charge. So I got my annual review and maxed out the 5/5 scale. So full bonus, right? WRONG, I was informed by my boss that no one actually gets their full bonus, unless the CEO himself signs off you’re lucky to get 50% of the expected bonus. And if you get more than your 50%, then it’s coming out of someone else’s bonus. Why in the fuck would you offer a higher target bonus, if it’s impossible to actually get it? Feeling like Clark Griswold, crushed right before Christmas.
