My husband works for a massive global corporation that until recently was comfortable with their employees doing some time in the office and some time at home. Certain employees with special situations were allowed to work from home. More recently the CEO of the company jumped online to let the employees know that everyone, regardless of their situation, is required back to the office for five days a week, no exceptions. My husband has difficulty breathing, I was recently diagnosed with a disability, and we have a very young child who can’t be vaccinated. The company isn’t making any allowances for people who are vulnerable or at risk. I need help, any advice or support or sharing and venting could help me right now. I’m so angry and I feel like this company are a bunch of disgusting ableists. What should I do? How can I help my husband through this? He has worked for this company for a long time but I can tell he feels betrayed and defeated. The part that really gets me is that my husband doesn’t work with anyone at his office, he would literally be commuting to the office to continue with virtual work. I don’t get it and I hate them.
