I planned to take leave this friday to take a trip with my family to celebrate mom and dad's anniversary. My manager already knew this since the beginning of the year.
Unfortunately, a deployment is scheduled for the same day as my leave and it cannot be postponed.
I messaged my manager asking who can take this up from my team and he replied that I should figure it out for myself.
I work as a data engineer in a multinational company but our team has downsized from 20 to 6 people within the span of a year.
I work alone since my whole team left the company and only have an associate to support me during times of need.
Tldr; important project deployment coincides with the day of my planned leave. Manager asked me to figure it out but have no one on the team to support me.
How should I reply to my manager to minimize blowback when I rejoin on Monday?
I would be grateful for any advice or suggestions. Thanks!
