He is 40. I'm a young adult so he's way older. So shouldn't he know better since he is 40 that this is not how you treat people?
Ever since I started he would make snide remarks and get mad over every little thing. This job was just working at an after school program for little kids(4 and under) I was working at. I start my new job Thursday(I was there last year). So I quit yesterday after they gave me my check(which is another red flag as they refused to do direct deposit, “incase” they had to lower someone's pay). No one trained me and he would also belittle me/ make fun of that fact too.
They would threaten to lower your pay from $10 to $7.25 if you stood up for yourself and told them they are not going to speak with you like that. I was also promised $13 an hour after being there for 2 weeks. Indeed even said pay $12-$16 an hr too. I was also told I had to take 1 hour breaks when all my coworkers only took 30 and when asking one of my coworkers why they didn't take an hour but I had to. She told me “that's bs you're only supposed to take a 30 minute when doing 8 hours.” Which is another red flag.
I'm not making excuses but I'm not going to get treated bad 24/7. Yes everyone has a bad day once in awhile and is rude but wtf? 24/7 this karen b*tch(manager) has been rude since day 1 of me starting this job.
I do have a diagnose of ptsd/ panic disorder from stuff i experience from ages 3 to about 15. which I pretty much have handled with medicene but not when I am CONSTANTLY GETTING yelled at (unexpedically like with my back turned) or when he would come uo behind my back and make a “dog sound like he was barking” and scream at me its just like WHAT THE FUCK? And he would then laugh and say “why did you jump like that” wtf is this mans problem.
Said he acts like this bc he was in the army. That's no fucking excuse. No wonder he cannot keep employees. I hope everyone quits and they have to shut down. My coworkers get treated the same way as him. Not a race issue either he treats people the same race as him the exact same way. He doesn't care who you are he treats everyone bad. And he got all defensive saying he “only treats children nice” again WHAT THE FUCK? he is a prick. I told
Him “great well i don't work for rude people” took my check and left.
He got so pissed when i said that and left to leave (after my shift ended) that he tried to put his hands around my neck i yelled “NO YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME” and he started screaming lol.
He's been like this ever since i started almost 4 weeks ago, yet lost it yesterday all at once bc i wasn't cleaning(wiping) the table the “exact same way” he does it. And he stared at me for 2 mins yesterday while i was working and wouldn't say anything and when i said “why are you staring its weird” he yelled at me. Like sorry not sorry but wtf if you stare at someone for 2 mins and not say/ do anything thats just stupid and weird.
I even told his wife (she is the owner with him) that i have ptsd/ PD and the way her husband (he wasn't in the office at this time but as soon as he heard his name he came) and that from years of physical abuse i have it she laughed and told me “oh please” but wtf? Its true when people go behind my back(the way he was) making loud sounds/ trying to choke me hell yeah that's gonna make me panic/ have a ptsd episode.
Should i report this to who? They don't have an HR its family owned
Edit- i was reading their reviews on glassdoor and a former employee said he used to tell her he hated his wife, all women, all men and bragged about how much money he makes.
