My manager was overheard telling fellow employees that now that they have “firing power” they were were looking for “just one reason” to fire an employee they did not like.
Imagine treating someone’s livelihood like a game. You simply do not like someone and fire them for reasons outside of their job performance. That you are actively nitpicking their work to stumble upon just one justifiable reason to fire them. You take away someone’s INCOME and ability to provide for themselves because you don’t like them.
The same manager that regularly talks about having crushes and being “in love” with some of their employees, admits to flirting with these employees in front of their partners to make them and their partners uncomfortable. And this person has the power to fire someone.
The same manager that walks around talking shit about employees behind their backs, calling them “assholes” etc.
How can I have faith in the company I work for if they put people like this in charge? I’m simply defeated. I feel like my job is in jeopardy every day because I worry about whether or not I am a “favorite” of theirs. Walking on eggshells like this is fucking high school all over again and I’m trying to fit in with the popular crowd. Except this time my entire livelihood is on the line.
