Manager is planning to remove light switch to the office and have it constantly on, any tips?

I work the occasional night shifts so you can understand that working with the lights off when its dark outside is a common occurrence. The manager, who unsurprisingly doesn't work the night shift, is planning to remove the switch probably because working with a constant bright light looks more professional. Any tips on how to prevent/get a light switch back? I was thinking of making a complaint to our health and safety unit for “aggressive lighting at night” but I heard that the manager is going through health and safety to have the lights constantly on.
