Manager issues?

So just prior to new years I had a medical emergency that forced me to leave my shift in a supermarket early (and subsequently vomit light pink liquid all over their toilet and more at home). The rest of the day was just pain and discomfort, severe lack of sleep which led to an awful day where I was pretty much in bed all day in pain due to a bowel obstruction which had popped up that first day. The third day I was just dead tired but not in as much pain so I came back to work the day after. The first thing the manager of my department asks is “how was your vacation?” As if he had no idea I was not in any condition to be working for those last two days, much less be there. It took almost a week in total for me to…

The first thing the manager of my department asks is “how was your vacation?” As if he had no idea I was not in any condition to be working for those last two days, much less be there. It took almost a week in total for me to get back my energy. How offended should I be about this person who I generally get along with well having made that statement?
